A reference to Thomas Cole's "Voyage of Life: Youth.... a young woman's adventure into the world
Loosely based on the interior of Chiesa del Gesu in Rome, a Baroque fantasy provides the background for a young woman pondering two distinct choices as clock gears slowly turn and the blue chasm of infinite space adds a sense of urgency.
What I would really like to convey here goes far beyond any sense of symbolism and deals with abstract patterns of color and light. I would like to think that shimmering textures express a mood that imbue the viewer with a sense of sensual luminosity and deep space.
